Amniotic Fluid Replacement Therapy - Procedure Of Amniotic Fluid Replacement Therapy





Amniotic fluid replacement therapy is used to induce abortion in the last trimester of pregnancy.

Procedure:

During the last trimester of pregnancy, amniotic fluid replacement therapy may be used. In this procedure, amniotic fluid is removed and is replaced by an equal volume of 20 % saline solution.
50 % glucose solution can also be used instead of a 20 % saline solution.
Abortion occurs in about 12 - 24 hours after the procedure.
